Installation of a
Britson D355 LDK
in Hattiesburg, MS at
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church
The Britson D355 LDK being prepared for installation and
voicing.
This is a view of the church with the organ console to the
lower left and the organ chamber to the upper right.

speakers,
the largest of which is 9 feet tall and 24" in
diameter.
Another view of the chamber. Even tho' the chamber had been
prepared
before the arrival of the organ,
it still took several hours to position and install all of
them.
During the long days work, a few minutes
are found to play a couple of tunes!
Curiosity brings in a few parishioners during the voicing
process.
A little company always makes the work go faster.

Ah! The many hours of installation and voicing have come to
an end
and the organist can begin to get acquainted
with the new organ. Every aspect of the organ is reviewed.
Late
into the night, the last few questions are asked,
and the tools are packed away.
I wonder if the organist played the night away after we
left?
The
following Sunday the organ received a standing ovation
at the end of the first service in which it was used!
